How to Care for Silk Panties
Wash like colors together, i.e., dark colors separately from light colors. Clothes with sweat should be rinsed or washed right away and not allowed to sit.Use a detergent designed for delicates, such as Woolite. Do not use alkaline detergents, pretreatments or bleach, and wash with like items only (not with your jeans, for example.)Use cool water, never use hot water. A few drops of vinegar can be added to the rinse water to maintain the color.Hand-washing is preferable, but if panties are machine washed, use a mesh bag to protect the delicate fabric, and wash on gentle cycle.Roll in a towel to remove excess moisture, and hang to dry. Never twist or wring water from silk.Silk dries quickly, so hang to dry and avoid using a dryer.Silk is naturally wrinkle-resistant but may be pressed on the back side with a cool iron while the panties are still damp. (Charmeuse may require pressing with a cool iron to restore sheen.
